Ok, first the disclaimer. This may be a stupid post, but this is my first turbo car, so I don't really know what the hell the deal is here. I'm an N/A guy at heart, but picked up an 85 SPG as a winter crasher, 500 bucks, couldn't beat the price.
So anywho, 85 spg, some DIY mods from the guy that had it before me. Bypassed the overboost, tweaked the wastegate rod, did some vacuum advance tweaking, maybe some other stuff here and there. Car boosts extremely well, will go to end of red no problem and hold it great... until 3400 rpm's, where without fail, every time in every gear the boost will fall back to about the yellow/red line.
So I'm just wondering how to get the boost to hold a bit longer, would be nice to see 4000 rpm's or so. Not sure if I just need something simple like a 3.0 bar (dunno if the guy put one in or not) or if I'm needing an upgraded APC or what the deal might be. I've also heard people say maybe it's my wastegate not holding... But I dunno, just figured I'd see what you guys had to say about it.
