If I recall correctly... Posted by PGAero [Email] (#1143) [Profile/Gallery] (more from PGAero) on Mon, 21 Nov 2005 18:08:22 In Reply to: Turbo on 9000??..., Eleximp, Sun, 20 Nov 2005 18:35:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The non-turbos had a higher compression ratio (10:1? +/-) and the turboe cars had lower compression ratios (8.5:1 ? +/-).
So, aside from things like additional oil lines, different exhaust pieces, entirely new intake, new ECU, and the like, the engine itself is not compatible for use with a standard saab turbo.
I might be wrong on the compression ratio, but I'm pretty sure my parents' '92 9000S (NA) has a much higher compression ratio than my Aero.
I don't think it's as easy as bolting on a turbo (which, by the way isn't easy anyway.)
Hope this helps. Enjoy your 9000. (I though most CSE's came with the turboe engine, but I know that some didn't, as CSE was a trim level (Leather, etc.) on the CS-body cars, and didn't specify the engine.)
