Yes I280 is fun.. I prefer it on my CBR1000!!! I even get some idots in Porsches trying to pass my on my bike.....very silly.... I also concur with what others have said. about 6 months ago I was on I680 south going towards San Jose around 12pm(no major traffic) I saw an STi come up from behind so I just let him go in front then in 5th gear at 85MPH I nailed it he resonded and he was just barely inching ahead as in we were neck and neck. I let off at 130 as I was running out of Gear(one of my pet peves with the SPG's... this is why I need the "8" primary drive gears)
And standard WRX's have no chance except right of the line... One tried to pass me getting on to 101 in a double lane on ramp he saw nothing but my licence plate...
Also handling.. I have 215/40/17 Z rated tires on my SPG and lets just say I have yet to get it to understeer.... as what it takes to get it to understeer scares the shit out of me... I can easily take an offramp that says 30mph at 60MPH. Now I agree on a track there is a lot more to it that just lateral grip.. but i just get a kick out of how a largely outdated car with $5000 worth of monds(my engine has 15k miles on it) can humble the newer stuff.
