I bought the car in April 2005 and got the PPC a few weeks later, so not sure about the fuel economy difference. I average about 18.5mpg in LA urban/suburban commuting. I'm not sure if turbo lag is reduced, I've been driving almost exclusively turbo Saabs for the last six years (and non-turbo Saabs before that) so I'm used to the way they "come on" and don't think of it as a defect. When I drive my wife's G35, I find the lack of that one heartbeat lag disconcerting, the throttle is almost too sensitive. Anyway, with the PPC, you get a much more dramatic kick in the pants after the brief spool-up, unless the TCs is off, and you just get tire smoke. As for whether the power increase is worth the extra $850, it really depends on your financial situation. The stock program is more balanced, and there is a lot less wheelspin, but the way the PPC program makes it pull way into the red is a real treat. I like the convenience of being able to unload it when I lend the car to my son, or go into the dealer for warranty work.

I'm rambling. If you can afford it, I'd say give it a try. But remember the PPC is married forever to the first car it connects to, so if you don't keep your cars very long, you'll be writing off the PPC when you trade or sell.
