The T7 boosts to achieve a target air flow, not pressure, not power. Intake restrictions make the turbo compressor work harder, which increases the compressor discharge temperature. The turbo turbine has to deliver more RPMs to the compressor and that requires that the wastegate be more closed. That increases the back pressure in the exhaust manifold which directly reduces engine torque. So reduction of intake resistance does increase things as you observe, and there is an increase in power.
