I don't understand how it is disappointing of Saab that aftermarket parts have a certain price?
I wasn't saying the Saab sports suspension is bad. It's just a softer setup than the aftermarket ones because that's what people usually want (especially in the States). Otherwise you'd see a lot of people complaining about a harsh ride.
Suspensions are always a compromise between comfort and handling. Better handling usually means less comfort and a harsher ride.
Yes the 9-3SS has a very rigid body. My guess is that it's more rigid than the WRX/9-2X. Anyway, you wouldn't gain anything by putting a rear strut brace in it. A bigger rear sway bar would probably make it feel more neutral though or even a bit oversteering. The STi springs must have been very cheap, but that's to expect with a much bigger customer base.
There just aren't a lot of Saabs driving around compared to other brands so naturally aftermarket parts are more expensive and the amount of parts smaller.
