Gary has always posted informative info on this web site and spent time responding to emails. I have only bought a few items from him but I have never had a problem.
A couple of things: we have few options for aftermarket items for the 16vt here in NA. I don't know if it is helpful to trash someone publicly when it may be an isolated incident. I would try and work things out with Gary before making negative comments. It can be frustrating which brings me to my second point.
It is also very hard to tune an engine with a chip that gets mailed back and forth. I have an aftermarket ecu with wide band and data logging running my 16vt. Even with this setup it still took awhile to get it "right" Your engine components as well have to be working near perfectly or you will be chasing your tail trying to tune. Is your temp sensor still in spec? AMM working well? O2 sensor reading accurately. The tuner has to assume that they are. There are a lot of factors here. It is damn hard to dial a chip in via fedex perfectly as many can attest (Jak, Damien) on this board.
Try and look at the big picture here. SD makes a lot of great products, has been around a long time and has never ripped anyone off as far as I have heard. Do we want them to go away or is the overall benefit for the Saab community worth the occasional difficult situation for a few?
