Well, I WAS pleased with my performance until I read that you are unhappy with a sub-16 second run in your Saab. Have you modified yours at all? I realize you are running a NG Saab, while I am running a 1988 SPG, with some decent mods (but still adding and tweaking) Mine, too, was the only Saab there. There were about 20 or so Dodge Neons, all modified, but still not very fast. Looked like a club event for them, or something. The main thing that sucked is that I only got to make one run all night. It was the first Friday night test-n-tune, so everyone was out with their rides.

Anyway, I ran a 15.75 at 90.9 mph, with a reaction time of .6238 seconds. I was running against a heavily modified Mitsubishi Eclipse, which ran a 15.02 at 97.8 mph, with a reaction time of .6229. I felt like I ran a very good race: great reaction, hit all of my shifts, great turbo boost I was guessing that I'd be close to 15 or 16 seconds, and I was aiming for above 90 mph in the 1/4 mi.

Are you sure your reaction times were terrible? Are you sure you know what you are talking about? Anything under .5 seconds will trip the red light automatically, unless you are running on some new fangled kind of starting tree. The human brain cannot process the signal that quickly (to transmit down the right synapses that it is time to pop the clutch!) and the tree is set up accordingly. Professionals running at the track tonight were not getting RTs as good as mine all night. I am confused by your post there. By pros, I mean guys running sub-10 second 1/4 miles in tubbed-out Chevelles, Camaros, etc.; and they are participating in points standings races, etc.

I plan on making more mods, and I have my ram-air set up about ready to drop in. After that, I'll be messing with the exhaust, and maybe somme AID work. I do need a new turbo (mine's not done yet, but I am getting very minor oil blow by after 1 - 2 minutes of idling, solitary puff of smoke out of thhe exhaust). I also have stainless steel brake lines ready to go, which will go on tomorrow.

I'm happy with my run, though disappointed I only go to go once! I do not plan on doing this too often, since OG 900 trannys are not made for this kind of abuse. Maybe once more this season... I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.

Mike
