No pic, but it's pretty simple.
The APC solenoid is the device above the radiator, just to the right of the ignition coil. It has three hoses coming out of it and an electrical connection at the top. The center hose comes from the turbo compressor. There is a restrictor in the barb at the switch. It can be removed easily with a bent paperclip and replaced with a smaller one. I was looking around my shop for something I could use for a smaller restrictor when I came upon the aerosol nozzle. You can use anything you can think of really, as long as it is a snug fit.
I was trying to come up with some way to slow the pressure build to the switch so the APC would open the wastegate later. I also wanted the pressure to the wastegate reduced to keep it closed a little longer. You could do this with an MBC, but my experience is that the boost overshoots and than settles down. This can be annoying as hell. Especially if you are passing someone and you hit fuel cutout. Most MBCs are a spring-and-ball deal. They hold back pressure totally to a point, then open quickly and shut quickly. With the smaller restrictor, I get a gradual increase in preasure to both the APC and the wastegate. In both cases the max pressure needed to open the APC valve and the wastegate will be reached once equilibrium is achieved. It just takes a litle longer.
I imagine you could also enlarge the size of the aerosol nozzle if you are overboosting or maintaining boost too long. Or just use another type of restrictor with a larger opening than the aerosol nozzle.
I would not recommend using a restrictor as small as I did unless you are making improvements to fuel delivery as well.
