One of my 9Ks is a '95 Auto Aero.
It has SQR stage 2 s/w, air cleaner mod, downpipe,
and Saber 2.5" cat-back exhaust and a stock T25 turbo.
Before the SQR s/w, it had an abbott ECU.
The abbott s/w produced huge amounts of torque at low rpm, but power faded
after 4500 rpm. I always worried that I would break the AT because of the torque. Power delivery was very non-linear.
The SQR s/w produces it's power at higher rpm. Where the abbott s/w was
fading out, the SQR s/w pulls like crazy, much more linear.
Rather than swap a turbo, I would go with s/w change. You will get a big
smile out of it. Make sure you tell the ECU tuner you have an auto, they
will change the torque curve to preserve the AT.
