I'm sure that you could find a lot of guys with NA cars to just swap "Machines" with you but you've got an idea there. I would better think that you would want to install an NA engine or at least "PISTONS" ,to get the higher compression ratio. We have thought about building a 16 valve NA stock car and wanted to experiment with the Turbo wiring just due to the fact of being able to adjust the Timing. Don't worry about the APC?? Just unplug the APC box or pull the fuse.
If it were me...I would choose the 2.1 (which most guys don't like!!)because of the bore, shave the head to gain a little more compression and go kick some serious SAAB butt!!!
