T5 vs T7 for SQR stage 4 ecu

I ran a SQR stage 4 ecu in my old 95 900SE for many years and loved it.....at WOT the boost needle would bury itself in the red zone....the car dynoed at 226 whp.
About a year ago I bought a 02 Viggen coupe and simultaneously installed Jak's mofo intercooler and 3" turbo back exhaust, plus the GS steering rack clamp and brace and a new SQR stage 4 ecu....The base bosst was to be set at 9 psi according to automation however my indie didn't have a gauge so we left the wastegate as it was.
The car runs great with loads of torque and power however the stock boost meter doesn't bury itself in the red zone like my old T5 900SE did.
is this normal for an SQR stage 4 T7?....or should the needle be buried deep in the red?
It is my understanding that on T7 cars the boost meter is not really measuring boost but air mass rate.....nonetheless I would expect a change from the stock setting.
Could someone with a viggen and SQR ecu please comment.
I will eventually put in an aftermarket boost gauge.
Thanks
John in Toronto
The car is great to drive and has lots of power
