I replaced by stock Bosch BOV a month ago with a Forge BOV and have been experimenting with the spring tuning kit. The springs are as follows:
Green - 5-15 PSI
Yellow - 15-23 PSI
Blue - 23-30 PSI
With the green spring I get the same Swooosh sound as the stock Bosch BOV and the same boost holding power.
With the yellow spring, the only time I hear swoosh is when I generate 15 to 20 psi just before shifting and the car feels stronger under acceleration. At lower boost pressures, instead of swoosh, I hear a strange reverbirating sound like the BOV is choking. It is difficult to explain.
With the blue spring, the boost holds real well and my car feels strong under excelleration. I never get the infamous swoosh sound when shifting but instead I hear the strange choking sound on every shift. Not sure what to make of it.
I want to make sure that I am not in danger of damaging my turbo by using the stronger springs. My car has SQR Satge 4 and I can easily generate 22 psi.
Anyone else have any experience with this valve?
Steve
