In the US, if someone wants to drag race they have tons of choices with tons of aftermarket support. A Mustang or a Camaro is always going to be easier and faster to drag race than a Saab. I’m guessing that in Sweden most cars are smaller displacement and front wheel drive, so a Saab might make a more good choice. I imagine there is also more aftermarket support in Sweden.
Because of the above, most people interested in drag racing in the US would choose a different brand. People with Saabs seem to be content proving there motors on the dyno, which is also an interesting measure of performance. Personally, I’m a big fan of drag racing and would like to see more Saabs out there. I’m sure a well set up Saab could really surprise a lot of people.
