Hey G, sorry to hear about your tools and workspace! Yeah we have MIG and stick welder in our shop. About the SPG engine, the answer is no. This is still the B202 block and head. The super duper motor is gathering dust at the moment. Sad!
I talked with Brad about getting more room around the front spring, and he said that it is possible to relocate the lower perch mount, pushing it inboard. I was thinking of just cutting off the mount and rewelding it, but he said that you actually can cut/remove the side support plates that hold the mount, then flip them around the other direction. I don't have an A-arm to look at here, but it sounds possible :)
One thing this would do is make the front spring rate seem softer, but by how much I don't know. Luckily, once in this setup there are lots of springrates to choose from.
