Thoughts on custom header Posted by Jon [Email] (#11) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jon) on Fri, 26 Jan 2007 17:57:44 In Reply to: Re: Claude's new engine with custom "Up pipe" installed, tommyjr, Fri, 26 Jan 2007 05:45:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Tommyjr, I have thought about your idea for a custom header. I am visualizing the turbo moved toward the right fender and rotated 90 degrees with the inlet to the front of the car, the exhaust outlet toward the rear. I need to hold a turbo in that position to determine how the header would need to be built. Would you still be using an Air Mass Meter? Would you want to get the inlet air from the right fender or maybe under the right headlight? Custom exhaust down pipe and inlet to turbo would need to be fabricated.
Other items that would need to be worked out are oil and water inlet and return lines. T3 or other style exhaust flange?
