i believe it actually all has to do with flux density. i.e thinwire .s. thick electrode. joules/area or something. however, in the case where an ecu is tuned to some airgap phenomena in re sensing applications then that requirement has to be respected. for spugly ( my ugly spg with 200 whp at 10 psi) no such requirement exists. i never did try the ngl iridiums tho. the nippondenso's just won't weear out! :)
pulling more hp at high boosts always toasts plugs. the best ones are ones not toasted... except for plat 4's, they blow out at about 16 psi.
now about that best oil to use.. :)
