Hey Jeff, do you still get over Syracuse way once in a while? I go through there a lot as it's right between my place in the finger lakes and Claude's place in Sauquoit. Also Claude's son races the "D" shaped dirt track in Brewerton. Next season should be interesting for him because Brad built an 8 valve non-turbo motor for Claude that makes around 200 HP, over twice the power the old engine made! As far as Saab head studs the studs thread in after the head is in place, otherwise as the head went over the studs (as you said) it would run into one of the chain guides. I use to grind a 8mm hex on the top of ARP studs but now they come with an internal hex drive. I do however reduce the smaller diameter in between the threaded areas for even more elasticity which makes them great for an aluminum head application. Someday I'll have ARP make a bunch of them up so I don't have go through all the trouble to make them work properly. Keep in touch! take care, Dave
