on my 9000S 92 2.3 I've got a mixed system... i had a custom built header put on (modified MSS 900 16V header) 2.5" pipe all the way with a magnaflow resonator, then a borla rear muffler, non resonated tip, and it's awesome, very nice sound, not obnoxious, and not blatty when downshifting, it's JUST right.
On my 85 SPG I just had a full 3" system done with no cat, just a mangaflow rear muffler, then a pace setter resonated tip, it's nice and throaty around town, very beefy, but when get on it(highway on ramps or passing or what not) and head to 15 psi and well beyond, it just gets plain ridiculous. I dunno how the cops aren't on me from miles around. I'm gonna have to go back in to have some kind of center muffler or resonator installed, cause I just can't deal with it the way it is. I wish I had gone with the same setup as the 9000, with the mangaflow resonator, borla muffler, then whatever tip, i have a feeling that would have been great, but oh well... it's just my beater.
