Hi John,
The transmission was on its way out long before we upped the power. As stated,I have been on borrowed time for a while and I was just waiting for it to fail. The box will be rebuilt and the quaiffe installed and hopefully, I'll be to good to go. Its common sense John, the stock transmission is designed to accomodate approximately 230-250 hp, I am well over double that now.....a weak transmission is not going to cut it.
I prefer to have my car tuned on the road, where it is driven, rather than on the dyno.... that is trying to simulate the real world. The best place to simulate real world driving conditions is to drive the car in the real world...not on the dyno. As you know, when tuning a car,it must be driven hard, and with extreme power levels, sometimes parts are going to fail......a perfect time to upgrade.
