SO i replaced the front few month old Tokico with a pair of Bilstein.
both shock are high pressre gas shocks, tockico is twin tube and bilstien is single tube.
First test: Both shocks out of the car. A- Compression by hand = Tokico is stiffer than Bilstein HD. B- Rebound is almost the same speed. C- Tokico compressed is aprrox 10", Bilstien Compressed is approx 10.5".
Second test: Ride : So far i drove the car for abour 20 miles. the ride is a little smoother with the Bilstein. However damping seems a little softer than the tokico. I am surprised. I thought Bilstein HD would be stiffer. but so far i was wrong about that. I like the smoothness of the bilistien with the 2" drop soft progressive ?? jamex, but i am waiting to get to push the car a little over some high speed dips and corners and see how it holds. I am not being a judge yet i need to drive the car more and report.
i replaced the tokico with Bilstein because i though i would get more damping and less suspension travel over dips but so far it seems the Tokico is better for preformance driving.
anyway i will report again later. what makes me wonder is that most of the posts hear recomend Bilstein or koni but they also say that Bilstein hd is stiffer than koni's stiffest setting. so does that leave us with tokico as being the stiffist shock. in theory better road holding??
