ECU?
I had a Abbott ecu in my '95 auto aero. The ecu requires a different
actuator that effectively raises the base boost to around 12 psi.
Abbott sent me the reprogrammed ecu and the wrong actuator by mistake.
I installed the ecu without the actuator and there was little improvement
in performance. After installation of the correct actuator, the performance
gains were realized.
The Abbott ECU and "new" actuator allows the motor to make a lot of torque
starting at 2500 rpm. Power tends to lessen around 5000. IT seemed very
nonlinear in power, a lot early, flat later.
My Aero now has a stock actuator and an SQR stageII ecu. It has much more
linear power and pulls until the red-line.
The Abbott ecu was fun, but with it's large torque at low rpm, I was concerned
for the transmission. The SQR is smoother, and I think faster.
