You might try a "search" on this BB for "LPT" for more information but the installation of the turbocharger to your 2.1 NA 900 should be very straight forward. The 900 NA ignition system is EZK and will retard ignition timing if detecting knock/detonation. This will make an LPT installation safe without needing to worry about detonation and the potential damage that can occur to the engine if not using a knock sens. system. An APC system could be easily installed but might only be required for 9+ psi charge pressures. With a higher charge pressure, use of the 900T ignition system would be ideal since this will provide retard under forced induction/boost and better turbocharger performance as well as less detonation potential.
A salvage turbocharger from most 900 will have a base boost pressure at 5-6 psi and a simple matter of running a hose from the compressor housing signal to the wastegate actuator will complete the task of generating a 5-6 psi charge pressure. The wastegate actuator arm will then be lengthened to reduce and shortened to increase charging pressures.
