um, does the 9000 have 4 bulbs for the headlights?....

H1's are single filament bulbs, like for foglights/driving lights and the like. Is there a seperate bulb for each high beam and low beam lamp on each side?

If there is only one bulb (or bulb hole), then i'd agree with brownie about the bulbs. Extra relays and heavier wiring would allow you to run brighter bulbs, but the E codes are supposed to have better light throw on the lenses so you may find you don't need to upgrade the bulb itself.

You may want to ask this question on the 9K board and see if you can get some more comprehensive answers about the actual bulbs to use.
