The 928 was sold last Fall as I was deeply involved... In a classic Jaguar phase. Actually, the T/A was for sale, and yes it was my driver, then I had someone offer to trade me the S4 for it so I thought "well, I'll just sell the S4 when I get bored". That happened fairly quickly.
Then this Spring, due to household budget constrictions, I ended my Jag phase as well with the sale of a 1987 XJ-6 VDP with 46K miles on it and my pride and joy 1991 XJ-S V12 with 47K miles own it. Both previously owned by my late grandfather, both in concourse condition, and both very dear to me.
My 1996 900 SETC was a consolation prize for losing my V-12 Coupe. I had spent over $10K just in performance upgrades for that car. It was a sled, by fast car standards, but it made 370HP and 425TQ from it's gorgeous 5.3 litre powerplant. With a stock 3sp TH400, 2.88 gear and big heavy wire wheels it ran mid 14s at almost 100MPH and would bury it's 160MPH speedometer in about 1.5 miles flat. MAN what a pull from 130 up!
My 900 is faster, now that I've massaged it a bit, but people don't complement me every time I stop for gas either.
The Saabs are unique cars. My first was an SPG several years ago. This NG900 is a lot of fun and a lot of car for the $$$.
Someday...when finances once again flourish, I'll build a monster...something...????
