There have been a few past threads about this, you should be able to find them pretty quickly, but to summarize:

1) The C900 has a T3 turbine inlet flange, the 9000 has a T25 flange. You can get the flanges made, purchase them from eBay or ATP or other turbo sites, etc.

2) The turbine outlet flange is also different. The T3 uses the 3 bolt 90* elbow, or you can eliminate that and use the 5 bolt T3 outlet flange. The 9000's TD-04 uses a different 3 bolt outlet flange. You can probably buy or make all of these (the gaskets are cheap, perfect templates for making your own).

3) The flange going onto the exhaust manifold will either have to replace the existing T3 flange, or will be an adapter (these exist). If you use an adapter, or the replacement flange is not in the exact same place as the stock one, the turbo will be in a different place, and you will have to modify or fabricate new oil and water supply lines. It can be as simple as cutting the stock hard lines somewhere convenient, barbing the ends, and splicing in a section of flexible hydraulic hose.

4) The Mitsu rotating assemblies are lighter than the T3 ones and help spoo-up a little but, and the Mitsu wheel designs are a little more efficient than the old T3 ones (or so I have been educated), but may be more expensive to repair/replace.

I have a TD-04HL 15T with a 6cm^2 turbine housing on my '85 900, and I really like it. It spools as fast or faster than the TE-05 12T I had before that (stock on 90+ SPG's, and 91+ 900T's), and holds more high end. It will sustain 18psi or so to 6000rpm with the correct intercooler setup and other supporting hardware.

I think it is a worthwhile upgrade, IF you can do the fabrication yourself, otherwise it will get expensive in a hurry. I was in a similar situation, and had the TD-04 from the '93 after upgrading the turbo in it, and we did the adaptation, it was not that big a deal.

Best,
Drew
