I had a bear of a time getting the rivets to work also. Drivers side you use the smaller plate bar with the nut welded on, and slide it in from the center of the car about 3 inches from the hole where the brace bolts up - so no rivet needed there.

On the passenger side, I had such a hard time getting the rivet to hold into place, everytime I thought it was good and went to take the bolt out, the rivet would just spin in place. So to get it tight, I just kept torquing it down, and the bolt eventually sheared in half.

I was getting frustrated at this point, so I just took it to my indie who charged me $75 to drill out the old one and then just weld the rivet in place. Took under an hour. The brace did line up smoothly, however.
