I would strongly consider selling the car and using that money and using the money and the $3200 you plan on spending for the kit and the $800 you are going to spend of the flywheel and clutch and buying something you really want.
If you are concerned that you will blow the engine, what is the point?
For 7K-12K you can take a Honda Accord with a proven powertrain or a Mitsubishi Eclipse or a Saturn and build it up. You can also buy a used BMW.
I know you love your car, but building your engine to be 70% over factory specs will either trash your tranny, or send metal bits through your exhaust. When Ford motocrosses the Focus, each car goes through a 1 million dollar rebuild process, with custom engines and custom trannies and custom suspensions. Ford does this because otherwise the trannies and engines explode.
Just an FYI.
Best,
C
