Best a/f gauge I've found is Dawes Devices A/F meter. It only warns you of a lean condition at WOT. 4 LCDs: rich, normal, stoich, and lean. Blue, your running rich, green your a wuss--push it a little more. When the yellow light is on you've got a good tune, red and you better dial it back a little. These meters are phenominally bright and are easy to see even in the daytime. Other gauges with multiple LCD bar graphs bounce all over the place and you have to keep an eye on them to be sure you're in the zone while driving, a real PITA.
There was a company called gadgetseller.com that was making custom tuned AutoMeter and Nordskog (sp?) a/f gauges for different applications but I see that there site is down now.
Here's the custom install in my Chrysler dash of the Dawes meter (the extra LCD is actually a light sensor).
