Your '88 is still the 8 1/2" clutch / flywheel setup! In '90 Saab went to a 9" clutch in their Classic 900T's which uses the same pressure plate as an '86 through '90 9000T but doesn't have the heavier duty clutch disk hub. If you use a '90 up C-900T flywheel to convert your '88 to a 9" clutch the timing marks are in the right place but on the 9000T flywheel 0 is actually 30 degrees BTDC if installed in a C-900. For this conversion I use an original equipment (up to '90) 9000T clutch kit that you can also get from someone like eeuro parts. I either convert an early flywheel like yours or just go to the later C-900T flywheel. You can also go to the early 9000T flywheel if you re-stamp the timing marks. If you need even more clamping force (say over 300 HP) you can go to a mid year '91-'93 9000T flywheel / clutch setup that's a 9 3/8" clutch but again you would have to deal with the timing marks.
