Turbo added to N/A engine

I'm able to get a 87 9000 turbo parts car locally for $300. I was wondering, I want to put the turbo on my N/A engine, I dont want to do a swap the whole engine & tranny since I dont have the know how or tools to do it.
Would it be worth it to buy it for all the turbo parts & swap them onto my car? I know you guys say not to add turbos to N/A cars, but why is it bad? When I see many other cars have turbos added to them?
The car was registered as a Non-op, I would buy it to have another car, but has a blown headgasket & I dont know how to change it.
My car is a 1990 9000-S automatic.
