I am a little confused about your results. I have not played around with slotting the strut area, but I have run different camber adjustable strut mounts on my 9-2x. Generally speaking moving the strut centerline in about 1/2 inch would gain in the neighborhood of 3 degrees of negative camber. I'm not sure what is functionally different between slotting and using an actual strut mount, but I don't think it should work differently.
I know of a 9000 racer that slotted the strut mount area to gain several degrees of caster (back towards the driver). I would re-measure your results from the slotting. Additionally you may want to play with the connection between the hub and the clevis bracket. There may be as much as 1/2 a degree of camber to be had just by exploiting any play prior to looking down the bolts.
Some people will use eccentric bolts in the top strut clevis/hub connection to cant the hub inward and add neg camber. There are those who recommend against that for racing, but many people have used it successfully. I'm not sure about the relative load differences between spikes on ice and slicks on asphalt, but it does get rough as hell out there for sure.
