I did the SoloII thing for a couple years in my '00 Viggen until the crowds and waiing drove me away.
The left foot brake technique works well on our Saabs to both keep the turbo up and balance the front/rear to avoid understeer. I found a quick brake punch often would get the front end to bite again when it'd rather slide out of line. With practice, you'll be able to 4 wheel drift. Biggest issue you'll have is a lack of limited slip making it extremely difficult to power out of turns.. trail braking out of a turn helps somewhat, but it's rough. Disable the traction control if you have this... it's too intrusive and will kill your times. Only other trick was to brake last minute, be patient in the turn, then slowly get on the go juice after the apex learning to modulate the throttle... smooth transitions are what's needed, not on/off unless you like chewing through tires and losing tenths.
Oddly enough, I found faster times with higher pressures on the rear tires (everyone will tell you I'm wrong, but that's what I found). Chassis is also "flexy", so get used to scared corner workers seeing your inside rear tire lift a foot or so off the ground; particularly fun when using left foot braking techniques as well because it stops turning as well :P
I kept mine in GS classing, so just shocks (koni adjustables) and sticky tires. The mods you have above will get you thrown into classes that will be exceptionally tough like DSP where you'll be running against similar modified rwd bmw's and such. I started getting stomped in GS when the Mini got LSD as a factory option, so expect to have fun, but not win.
Better realm for the Viggen is SCCA Time Trials if you've got them around there. Basically, it's like track qualifying using SoloII classifications (fastest lap wins). The Viggen kills because we're setup much better than the other class cars for high speed thrills; the mini will wreck you in the corners, but with a nice straight, you'll fly past him as you hit 3rd gear and beyond (high altitude might make a huge difference though and with you in FL, na cars aren't wheezing for air).
