.... which is exactly why they should be nearly equal length for a turbo as well. If the primaries are nearly the same length, then the exhaust pulses reach the turbine inlet in a much more orderly fashion than with the factory log manifold.
The headers on my car are almost exactly the same layout as those, Cyls 1 $ 2 are almost straight shots to the collector, Cyl 3 kinks down a bit to lengthen the run, and cyl 4 right by the collector goes way down out of the way and rejoins to keep the primary lengths similar. They should all be about as long as the run from Cyl 1 to the collector. Mine were calibrated for equal length by mocking up the tubing, and filling each primary with rice; same amount of rice in each = about the same length.
Tuning headers for turbo vs. N/A cars targets completely different phenomena, but there will be a marked difference in either case, provided the manifold is designed and sized correctly for the application.
