Sorry for taking a week to reply - I was out of town last week. I think you've made aq discovery here. I've always heard that the E30 M3 pads would work on a 9000, but not the E36 M3, because the later pads were simply too big to fit the calipers. In your pics I can see that they clearly have a lot more contact area, but they have similar size backing, as you stated, so they sound like a great option for the 9000. I'd love to hear how you find them now they've broken in.
