You would lose the boost pressure reduction of the ecu and that can be an issue if the car gets heat soaked or you get bad gas or a fauled plug or di. The ecu would no longer be able to dump boost. The mbc runs set boost pressure whether the engine is knocking or not, so you do loose some safety.
There is now a way to convert the ecu to run the t7 bpc and it only cost 49 bucks. I am thinking of doing this myself as I have the same issue, sticking bpc and I have 4 bad ones on the bench now...
