There is knock detection in the ecu and it will work similar to t5 and that is it will add fuel, pull out timing and then reduce airmass if knock is detected.
The airmass fuel cut is like t5 in that if you go over the set airmass amount, fuel cut will be engaged and its like hitting a brick wall, just like t5. T7 uses airmass to determine if there is an issue and t5 uses boost level to determine if there is an issue.
The result is the same, if the airmass on t7 or boost on t5 is too high, fuel cut will engage and the car will jerk violently and its just like hitting a brick wall. I hit it in a viggen when I did not set the fuel cut airmass quite high enough and it felt just like a t5 car to me.
