I have been running a spec aluminum light flywheel on my ng900 for a while now with no issues that you speak of, I did use red loctite when I put the flywheel bolts in and torqued them to spec.
I have not heard of this issue with bolts getting lose and needing a steel plate, but I guess its possible, just have not heard of it. I have had some issues with my spec stg3 clutch holding at my sae denver 513whp, but other than having to put a new clutch in my car, no other issues, just ordered up the spec stg 3+ for my car with new flywheel insert and its back up and running, hope it holds this time.
good luck,
John
