Erebuni rear bumper aerodynamics Posted by Landjet [Email] (#16) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Landjet) on Thu, 5 Feb 2009 07:55:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On fleecemebay Item number: 220354106166 which is an aftermarket airflow type bumper for a C900. In comparison to the OE Airflow bumpers this has cutouts in the rear -- seems like this would allow the undercarriage air pressure to escape at higher speeds. The OE Airflow bumpers don't have this -- I would think they would not allow air escape creating drag on the inside of the bumper. I suppose if the car were lowered to the point the front dam minimized the undercarriage air flow, then it wouldn't make a difference. At SOC09 there was a beautiful blue C900 with an additional lower front spoiler that certainly would keep most all the air from under the car.....I would be decorating curbs with it as well though....
Does anyone have empirical data on the flow kits and how they perform in comparison to each other?? Or is this just a common sense thing that the original Airflow kit designer missed the boat on??
Maybe someone will recognize the car in the link....
