My 88 c900 turbo has had APC issiues for as long as Ive owned it, its boosted very inconsistantly and has had APC solenoid chattering issiues too. The engine is mechanicly healthy and I don't belive that there is a knocking problem. I think that the problem is in the pressure transducer, or quite possibly a bad connection in the circuit and not the transducer it self,(Ihave found more bad connections in this cars wiring than I can count) it has done the same thing with 2 different transducers and two different APC boxes, both of which (APC boxes)are known to be good. Mike9 in the chat room suggested replacing the transducer with a ressistor, which makes sense excecpt that if the problem is in the circuit, putting a ressistor in the place of the transducer will still leave me with a faulty circuit. BTW the brake switch is new and the fuel cut/overboost sensor is bypassed already
This leeds to my question; Will modding the APC box, as described on sites like 900aero and team SAABworks do the same thing? Are modified APCs suposed to have a normaly funtioning transducer, or do the internal modifications make that un-nessary?This car is not a daily driver and I plan on many performane upgrades any way. I am planning on about 18-20 psi of boost with a mitsu te05 turbo and an intercooler upgrade. It already has a B212 head and plenum with B212 intake cam and 85 turbo exh cam + 3bar FPR. thanks. Andy
