I've been doing this for a little while now. It's absolutely awesome. I'm rocking stage 3. 3" DP, Swaybar up front. Recent refresh of powertrain bushes.
But it's quite nice. I have "hardwired" the USB adapter and just have a USB the pokes out on the driver's side near the a-pillar. I use a windows xp laptop and run both t5suite and the absolutely fabulous sister programs that do live data-presentation of every sensor that the car's CAN-BUS is sending through the ECU.
The software allows me over this USB connection to create and save a bunch of presets.I can change boost tune fairly easily---all while still acknowledging the APC system in order to draw back the system if the temperature of fuel cant keep up.
More importantly the program is advanced enough to have wizards for things like 3.0 bar fprs, big injectors, and you can do things like change the systems response to a lack of catalytic converter.
Be careful, though. It's a lot of fun, and big boost breaks stuff. The engines are very sturdy, but i hear the 300Hp guys usually have the replace a transmission.
Honestly, I dont see the point of much more power (without serious exhaust/turbo work) than that for daily driving comfort. It's not like we can give the front tires much more than that and expect traction...
