engine management system is a must. you can get a chip from some of the sources mentioned in other postings. or you can get a completely programmable one. nice part about the chip is that it tends to be plug and play once the tuner gets your specs. with the programmable one, you can make your own updates for every additional change you make, but it is much more time intensive on install and you need to tune it right or you can really damage things. another plus with the programmable is you can use it to drive the water injection if you decide to add it on. i went the programmable route and loved it. it was a lot of pain, but a lot of fun as well. it was my daily driver for years and i would make tweaks on the fly to improve soft spots in acceleration, cruising on the highway, etc. most of all, i was patient and learned a ton about how the c900 engine works.
key thing with any mod to keep in mind is that everything needs to work together. meaning, you can't just throw in larger injectors and expect an increase in power. if you can move more air through the engine (ported head, cam work, larger exhaust, larger turbo) then you need more fuel. if the stock system won't keep up, then you need to make changes. some have found that larger injectors and a larger FPR work with the stock ecu map to fill the need for fuel. others have found that even those changes don't result in rounding out the fuel need. so, if you go the chip route, and you are working with a tuner, make sure they know your set up (fmic, turbo, exhaust, cams, headwork, injector size, etc). if they aren't asking you these questions, or at least telling you what their chip is programmed for, then you won't necessarily have the best solution for your car.
good luck.
