I bought Greenstuff pads and EBC rotors in 2002. I put them on the car ('97 9000) at 67,000 miles in 2003. The car had gone that far on the original rotors, and had new pads at 29,000 miles, when the pads were replaced with SAAB pads, so the second set lasted 38,000 miles. The Greenstuff pads were noisy, and I didn't detect any improvement in performance, though they were supposed to be a performance upgrade. They barely lasted 23,000 miles, in similar use to the stock pads which went 38,000. I was happy to get rid of them and replace them with Textar, which were a nice pad, quiet, even on the EBC slotted rotors, and provided better stopping (slightly) than the Greenstuffs. The Textars lasted just over 30,000 miles, (maybe 32,000?), which was probably shortened slightly by the EBC rotors, and they were not totally done, but I wanted rid of the damned rotors. I replaced them with Zimmerman non-drilled rotors and Performance Friction pads, in the BMW M3 size, which will fit the stock 9000 rotors, with some very mild grinding of the edge of the backing. The PF pads were a nice improvement over the Textars, I don't know how much was due to the inherent nature of the pads and how much was due to the increase in swept area. Then, I switched to a set of Wilwood calipers and their proprietary pads, which have again been an improvement, though not earth shattering. I'm planning to replace the pads next time with Porterfield R4-S's which I've read a lot of good things about, and my Indy uses them on his cars. I have driven one of his cars with these pads, and I noticed a definite improvement in them over the pads he previously had on there. So, I haven't owned these pads, but I have driven them, and plan to buy them next time I buy pads. In fact, I just bought a set of them for another car (not SAAB).
