I too am afraid to let anyone else work on or test drive my car and its not because I am afraid of the pistons, its because of what people said, being easy on the tranny, like I do, letting the car warm up before boosting it, like I do and just having the care to take care of a car that is your own.
I have worked at many shops and there is no question that some techs will ream out some of the hotter cars if they get a chance. I have seen this done and I would be concerned about letting just anyone hop in a stg 4 car and having them drop the hammer.
The best options are to have a second stock ecu to place in the car or a way to keep it at base boost so when they do drive it, its not something they want to really push to the limits. You could pull the bpc fuse, but if the tech is good, he will figure that out...
good luck,
John
