Hi Aaron, there's a shoulder behind that plug so it won't go all the way through and fall into the sump if you drive a sharp punch through it to make a whole to screw in a large sheet metal screw in so you can pull it out. This way you're not drilling the whole which could very possibly get metal chips in the sump. Also with a shoulder behind the plug you may be able to lightly hammer a blunt punch right in the middle of the plug without driving it all the way through which should collapse it enough to pry it out but be careful that shoulder is only about an 1/8" thick!
