Ah... you've just experienced what every performance enthusiast experiences. Adaptation.
A friend of mine restores and modifies cars for a living. He bought a 2003 SVT Cobra Mustang. Felt fast at stock 390HP. For a while. After a year he has modified it to where it was making 520HP. I'd driven it, and it was a screamer. But he'd again gotten used to it, and it was feeling flat. He recently replaced it with a new gen Mustang w/a long list of mods. Makes around 600 HP at the crank. He plans to get it on a dyno soon for some more tweaking. Just doesn't feel all that quick to him... Do you see the pattern?
