I do have a larger turbo and other go-fast goodies along with performance brakes, rotors and suspension and shocks. Otherwise the engine is untouched, all stock. However, like I said in my last post a week ago... I have blown two transmissions until I got a stronger unit from Scanwest Autosports in Seattle. Fix the transmission first, I think you said you had 17,000 dollars to spend? Buy the most expensive transmission you can from Scanwest Motorsports, and then see what you have left over. The maximum horsepower and Torque ScanWest Autosports tells you their strongest transmission can reliably handle is where you want to be in building a performance engine. Probably shoot for less than they rate their transmission for and you'll be quite happy. That's where you shoot for in terms of horsepower and Torque. If they can build you one that'll truely handle say, 300 horsepower and 325 Torque at the wheels with real reliability, then you know what you need to get there in terms of building an engine. I've enjoyed high horsepower and torque, but boy does that buzz get killed when your transmission case blows in the middle of the freeway! Very dangerous! I've understood that with lots of strengthening, the engine can handle 300HP and alittle over that in Torque. And that is the MAX! Please find out what is the very strongest transmission Scanwest can build for you and how much it's gonna cost, then get back to us. We wish you well in your project.
