I have the green spring installed in my Forge diaphragm style BPV and noticed the same issue you are describing. I opened the valve and was shocked to discover how much the Green spring had shortened in use compared to the Blue and Yellow springs still in the box.
Since my valve included only additional springs and no spacers, my solution was to buy fender washers at the local hardware store that fit inside the Forge spring chamber. I bought four washers for around $0.30 each and installed two. Performance immediately improved.
