Modded Viggen. Engine making clunking clacking noises

I have a modded 9-3 viggen with T-5 cams and stage 4 software. when I start the car in the morning while idling it makes clunking and clacking noises with a bit of burbling mixed in. Once the engine heats up it's still there just not as noticeable. Could this be piston slap or a cracked piston? I burn through a lot of oil. I notice it comes from the drivers side more. Time for a rebuild with forged pistons?
