The older cars went strictly off boost pressure for fuel cut, but your Viggen (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) has a pressure cut, as well as an airmass cut.
If your AMM is bad you may actually be exceeding the airmass cut but haven't reached the pressure cut?
The whole point of T7 is that it's allowed to mess with boost in conjunction with other things to get the 'desired' amount of air regardless of ambient conditions, heatsoak, coolant temp, etc.
That's all it means when people go touting on about how T7 is an 'airmass-request-based-system.'
